Kiplinger’s rated housing prices in the Fargo-Moorhead area as “Very Affordable.” When compared to the 381 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., Fargo-Moorhead’s low-priced housing rated a 2 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest price home markets.

Quality Education

There are three major colleges and universities in Fargo-Moorhead: North Dakota State University in Fargo, and Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College both located in Moorhead. There is also a state technical college, a Catholic seminary, a school of business, as well as nearly 40 pre-schools and a very organized adult education program.

Arts and Culture

Fargo-Moorhead is home to the Trollwood Performing Arts School, the Fargo-Moorhead Opera, the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, Red River Dance Company, the Plains Art Museum, and five different performing theaters.

From ice hockey to semi-pro baseball, Fargo-Moorhead is a sports lover’s paradise. There are nine golf courses, a skate park, archery and shooting ranges, a horse track … and even a curling club!

The Great Outdoors

You can experience the beauty of four seasons in Fargo-Moorhead. There are 37 parks in our community, a very well-developed walking and bike trail system, cross-country skiing, auto-race track, and Bonanzaville.

Festivals

We are fortunate to host an annual air show, the Fargo Marathon, the Scandinavian Festival, the Red River Valley Fair, Pioneer Days at Bonanzaville, the Street Fair, and two large music festivals—Blues Fest and WeFest, in nearby Detroit Lakes, MN, for country music fans.

Houses of Worship

Fargo-Moorhead is a community with a rich religious history as evidenced by it’s high church-to-population ratio. There are currently one hundred and thirteen houses of worship representing thirty-three different denominations. And … did you know North Dakota has more surviving historic one-room wooden churches than any other state?
